What We Believe

We believe that Jesus Christ is God, that The Father is God, and that The Holy Spirit is God.  We believe in the Triune Nature of God: three persons in One God, with each person being equal to and possessing all attributes of the other two persons.

We believe that The Word of God is our final authority and reigns supreme over man, government, culture, tradition, and opinion.  We read The Word, pray The Word, sing The Word, teach The Word, preach The Word, believe The Word, and live The Word of God!  Sola Scriptura!

We believe that The Triune God is the creator, and that man was created for The Glory of God!  Therefore, we believe we are to live and move and have our being in Him, doing all things for The Glory of God!  Soli Deo Gloria!

We believe that all of mankind inherited sin from the fall of man and that all of mankind is totally depraved and unable to come to saving faith on his own.  We believe that regeneration by The Holy Spirit must precede faith; that The Holy Spirit must give spiritual life to man before that man can and will believe.  We believe that all who The Father draws will come to a saving faith and knowledge of Jesus Christ.  We believe that we are saved by grace alone (Sola Gratia), through faith alone (Sola Fide), in Christ alone (Solus Christus)!

While we believe that salvation is monergistic – that man’s salvation is only the work of The Triune God, we believe that sanctification is synergistic – that man’s growing in holiness and in conformity to the image of Christ is accomplished by God The Holy Spirit working in man to will and act according to His good purpose.  This requires man’s obedience.  Man must surrender to The Word as God The Holy Spirit applies it to man’s life.

We believe in a high view of God and a low view of man, and this is reflected in our manner of worship guided by the Regulative Principle.  Worship is Theocentric (God-centered), and so we worship to honor, praise, and glorify Him while edifying each other.  We believe that worship is for the church family, and that families ought to worship as families.  Accordingly, we do not separate teens, children, and babies from their parents, but families worship with the church family as a family.  Sometimes that can get a little messy, so we do offer a “cry room” attached to the sanctuary to tend to young ones’ needs while still participating in worship.

What we believe is best summarized in the confession of faith to which we hold, The 1689 London Baptist Confession of Faith.

Because we believe what we believe, we are Reformed, Confessional, and Enslaved to Christ…For His Glory!  Click here to find out what that means.
